Charles Strickland is Consultant CSR/ International Development. Charles is passionate and accomplished in his varied roles as manager, leader and advisor in the international development, sustainability, and philanthropy fields. He brings to organisations and groups he works with 20-plus years of professional experience planning, leading, managing and implementing complex and innovative technical cooperation programs globally. In recent years, Charles has taken on various medium and long-term assignments that have focused on strategic partnerships and resource mobilisation internationally.

Through his work, Charles strives to build and leverage dynamic relationships between diverse stakeholder groups to facilitate sustainable social, economic and environmental impact on the most vulnerable in at-risk communities or development contexts.

Passionate about the SDG agenda, particularly SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, SDG 5 – Gender Equality, SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.

Charles’ origins in the international development sector are through his participation in a youth exchange that took him to rural Southern Sri Lanka before his university study. This inspired within him a strong commitment to local participation and ownership of the change process. He further recognised early on that it is through teamwork and collaboration that the greatest successes will occur.

Charles offers consultancy services in English, Sinhalese and French. He splits his time between Halifax, Canada and Colombo, Sri Lanka and visit the Middle East regularly.
